ANALYTICAL VACUUM APPLICATIONS

HOME > INDSUTRIES > ANALYTIC APPLICATIONS

Analytical instruments, like mass spectrometers or scanning electron microscopes are used in many different industries, research and science. These precision instruments are very advanced and technically complex. Vacuum pressure is essential for many types of analytical instruments to enable functionality, enhance sensitivity and prevent contamination from atmospheric air. The high level of complexity and precision engineering also sets high performance and quality standards for the vacuum system and vacuum measurement instrumentation.

Sens4 offers vacuum measurement products and solutions for integration in analytic instruments including:

  • Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)
  • Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX, EDS)
  • Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)
  • Gas Chromatography
  • Mass Spectrometry (LCMS, GCMS, ICPMS, TOF)
  • Materials Porosity
  • Particle Surface Area (BET)
  • Vapor Pressure Measurement
  • Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
  • Spark & Arc Emission Spectrometer (AES)
  • Thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA)
  • Ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy

Recommended vacuum measurement products for analytical applications:

SMARTPIRANI™ transducer, an ultra-wide range Pirani transmitter

In mass spectrometer applications an electron source is operated under vacuum to ionize gas molecules. The unique low measurement capability and stability of the SmartPirani™ transducer is best-in-class and not offered by any other thermal conductivity gauge on the market. The SmartPirani™ transducer can be configured to provide a reliable solid-state switch point to control pump down cycle and to control safe pressure level to energize the mass spectrometer electron source.

  • Measurement range 1x10E-6 to 1200 mbar (7.5x10E-7 to 900 Torr)
  • Superior overall performance, range, stability and accuracy
  • Reliable solid-state relays for setpoints controlling
  • Compact and robust stainless steel design
  • Customization of configuration possible
  • Plug-and-play compatible with competitive products
